Convo 2009- Orlando!

So I took a trip last week to Orlando, Florida to attend the national conference of Kappa Delta Pi. We learned a lot about teaching..and we had a little bit of fun. :) Some of our adventures included accepting our fourth consecutive biennial ACE award, talking to educators from all over the country, getting dissed by a drunk/stoned man (complete with parrot), experiencing an Icebar-EVERYTHING was made out of ice, watching part of the incredible Eagles vs. Giants games with some new friends-fellow Philly folk..good things happen when you sport your Philly gear, and flying off into the sunset-literally. It was a great trip, and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have gone.

Meeting Naomi Faith!

So this weekend I got to spend 12 hours in the car to be home for 40. Despite this I got to meet my precious new niece, Naomi Faith Manthey. I also got to be at the wedding of my good friends, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Peroni!

So my momentous 21st birthday began with a rugby match against a nationally ranked team. And although Grove rugby did not emerge victorious from the vicious battle we fought hard and made them work hard for their win. In the process my eye met a knee, elbow, or foot (not sure which it was). The following show said eye in all its glory!

Javien Christian

So my big sis Ruthie finally had her baby, Javien Christian Delgado, on July 7th at 12:33 in the morning. He just squeezed it in so that he can share a birthday with his Aunt Becki! Anyway...he is absolutely adorable...of course, and I cannot get enough of this precious baby! I'm only adding a few pictures here but the rest of them are on my share site. Congratulations to Ruthie and Will on their beautiful, sweet baby boy!

The Pittsburgh Project 2009

What a great week we had in Pittsburgh. It was so wonderful to go back with the youth group from Mountain View. The Pittsburgh Project has changed my life in so many ways and continues to teach me something new each time I go. What a great organization run by such wonderful people! And what a great experience to be able to share it with my baby sister...(who just turned 17 and is not quite a baby anymore!) Thank you for such a great week and praise God for safety and for how he works everything our in our lives!

Summer is here!

Well I have been home for a couple of weeks now on my summer vacation. It started off pretty busy since I had to complete a week-long observation in an elementary school. I observed at an elementary school in Ambler and I absolutely loved it! Of course, after this I packed up and spent the next week at World's End State Park with the large and boisterous Manthey family. What good times! I am blessed with such an incredible family!

Newest News from the Grove

So I have decided to follow in the footsteps of my big brother Timothy. I am now playing rugby at Grove City College. YAY! (of course the footsteps are on a slightly different path since he played on the men's rugby team and I on the women's...). We have had a few practices so far and I am absolutely loving the sport! Why don't they have this at Boyertown high school?!?
